Help BCF award more college scholarships to deserving Black students from KC.
BCF has six $5,000 scholarships available for 2019. Help them get to seven!
Since 2010, and with thanks to individuals like you and me, the Black Community Fund (BCF) has awarded $.5 Million in academic support to over 84 Black and African-American students in the Greater Kansas City area.
Annually, the Black Community Scholarship Fund receives over 140 applications. As BCF enters its 10th year of awarding life-changing, $5,000 scholarships, it needs us, our friends, our family and community networks more than ever, to help these talented and ambitious students attend college.
I was a recipient of this scholarship in 2012 and it played a critical part in me continuing my education. My family did not have the means to support me financially but with the help of BCF not only was I able to continue my education, I would later go on to graduate from college as a first generation college student. I have since then returned to my beloved city to give back to our youth as an educator.
Six $5,000 scholarships are currently available for 2019-2010 academic year. Because I've witnessed the power of collective giving, I am asking if you would help BCF get to seven scholarships by the end of Black History Month. Every size contribution will go a long way to helping BCF meet the shortfall in support for area students who have set their sights and dreams on college-going in 2019. We have to the opportunity to make the dreams of our youth come true so that they too, can be pillars of their community. Please donate today.
